Pierre Gasly has started seven United States Grand Prix races and left six of them with nothing. The exception was a sixth place in 2023.

Seven starts, eight points, two retirements, no podium. It is the thinnest record of any driver on the grid with this many Austin starts.

Two suspension failures and one afternoon that worked

The 2018 debut for Toro Rosso brought twelfth, a lap down, from nineteenth on the grid. 2019 ended with a suspension failure and sixteenth, and 2021 ended with another suspension failure and twentieth. Two of his seven visits have broken underneath him.

2022 was a clean but anonymous fourteenth from eleventh on the grid.

Then 2023, the one that counts. Seventh on the grid for Alpine and sixth at the flag, eight points, his only score at the Circuit of the Americas.

It did not hold. Twelfth in 2024 from sixth on the grid was a weekend that went backwards from a decent Saturday, and 2025 was a lapped nineteenth from fourteenth.

A circuit that has not repaid a good Saturday

No win, no podium, no pole and no fastest lap. He has started inside the top eight three times here and those three weekends produced a retirement, a sixth place and a twelfth. The one that worked is the only one on the points column.

He returns on 25 October in the A526. Austin has given him less than almost any other circuit he visits regularly, and a second scoring finish would be worth more to this record than the number suggests.
