Esteban Ocon took eight points from the 2017 United States Grand Prix. In the six visits since he has taken none.

Eight starts, eight points, a best finish of sixth that is now nine years old. The shape is almost identical to his Baku record, where one early afternoon also accounts for the whole total.

One good year, a disqualification and a pit-lane start

The 2016 debut came with Manor from twenty second on the grid and finished eighteenth, two laps down, which was roughly the ceiling of that car.

2017 was the breakthrough: sixth on the grid for Force India, sixth at the flag, eight points. It remains the only time he has finished a United States Grand Prix inside the top ten.

2018 should have added to it. He qualified sixth again and was disqualified after the race, leaving a nineteenth on the sheet and nothing scored. A mechanical problem ended 2021 and left him nineteenth again.

2022 is the oddity. He started from the pit lane, gave up the entire grid and still came home eleventh, one place outside the points. Eighteenth in 2023 and 2024 followed, then fifteenth in 2025, his first Austin weekend with Haas.

8 starts at the United States Grand Prix, 8 championship points, best finish 6th, 2 retirements. Ocon started from the pit lane in 2022 and the 2018 result was a disqualification. Ocon did not race in 2019 or 2020. All of them were held at the Circuit of the Americas. Grand Prix results only, sprint races excluded. Source: GridnTrack race data.

Nine years since the only score

No win, no podium, no pole and no fastest lap. Twice he has qualified sixth here, and those two weekends produced his only points finish and his disqualification.

He goes again on 25 October in the VF-26. The pit-lane drive in 2022 says the race will reward patience from him, and the rest of the table says it has not often had the chance.
