Valtteri Bottas won the 2019 United States Grand Prix from pole position. It is the only time he has led a lap of this race, and almost everything he owns here comes from the four seasons around it.

Eleven starts, one win, 67 points. The last three visits have produced nothing.

Four Mercedes years, and a flat line either side

The Williams era opened the record quietly: eighth in 2013, fifth in 2014 from third on the grid, then a retirement in 2015 and a lapped sixteenth in 2016.

The Mercedes move changed the picture immediately. Fifth in 2017 and fifth again in 2018, both from third on the grid, then the 2019 win, which came on the afternoon his team mate wrapped up a championship behind him.

Sixth in 2021 was the last time he scored here. Since then: a spin out of the 2022 race, twelfth in 2023 and a lapped seventeenth in 2024, all in Sauber machinery that was never in the conversation.

Of his 67 points at this circuit, 63 came in the five seasons from 2014 to 2021. The surrounding years contribute four between them.

A winner with three blank years behind him

The shape here is the same one his Baku record has: a win from pole in 2019, and then a long run of weekends with nothing on the board. Both circuits gave him everything in the same season.

He is back in 2026 with Cadillac, a team still looking for its first point, so the eleventh start on this list is likely to be followed by a twelfth that looks much like 2024. The win is seven years old, and it put him in a very short list: only six drivers have won the United States Grand Prix in the fourteen runnings at Austin.
