Pierre Gasly has raced the Azerbaijan Grand Prix seven times and scored on exactly two of them. Those two afternoons, back to back in 2021 and 2022, account for every single point on his Baku record.
Seven starts, 25 points, one podium. Everything either side of that two-year window is a blank.
Two seasons of everything, five of nothing
2021 is the high point: fourth on the grid, third at the flag, fifteen points, on an afternoon when the race in front of him came apart late. 2022 followed it up with fifth from sixth on the grid, another ten points. Both came with the team now racing as Racing Bulls.
Before that, nothing. Twelfth on debut here in 2018, then 2019, which is the strangest line on the sheet: he started from the pit lane in a Red Bull and retired with a transmission failure.
Since the move to Alpine it has gone quiet again. Fourteenth in 2023, twelfth in 2024, eighteenth and lapped in 2025, from grid slots of seventeenth, eighteenth and eighteenth. He has not qualified inside the top fifteen at this circuit in four years.

A record that hinges on the car
No win, no pole and no fastest lap, and the entire scoring half of this record fits inside two seasons. Read it next to his qualifying positions and the explanation is not subtle: he scored when he started fourth and sixth, and has not scored since he stopped starting there.
Baku returns on 26 September and he takes the A526 to a circuit that has always paid him well when the car let it.
