Arvid Lindblad's Dutch Grand Prix record is one race old. The Racing Bulls driver arrived at Zandvoort in 2026 having never raced a Formula 1 car there, qualified tenth and finished twelfth.
That makes it the shortest entry in the series: one start, no points, and a first look at a circuit with a reputation for humbling drivers seeing it for the first time.
The hardest possible venue for a first look
Zandvoort is not a gentle introduction. The circuit is narrow, several corners are effectively blind on entry, and the banking at Turn 3 and Turn 14 changes what the car does underneath a driver in a way no simulator fully prepares them for. There is very little run off, so a mistake tends to end the session rather than merely cost time.
Overtaking is the other problem. Zandvoort has one genuine passing opportunity, which means a driver who qualifies poorly usually finishes poorly. For a rookie, Saturday matters here more than almost anywhere else on the calendar, and Lindblad's Saturday was the better half of his weekend.
What he brings with him
Lindblad reached Formula 1 through the junior single seater ladder, with Formula 4, Formula 3 and Formula 2 experience behind him and Red Bull backing that fast tracked him onto the 2026 grid. He did not arrive at Zandvoort blind, because the junior categories have raced there.
Be that as it may, a Formula 2 lap of Zandvoort and a Formula 1 lap of Zandvoort are different problems. The speeds, the downforce and the consequences of getting the banking wrong all scale up, and tenth on the grid on a first attempt suggests he handled the step better than most rookies do here.

Lindblad's first Dutch Grand Prix was a competent one. He qualified tenth, which at a circuit this punishing on newcomers was the achievement of the weekend, and finished twelfth after losing two places on Sunday.
No points, but no mistakes either, and he finished ahead of more experienced drivers. For a rookie at the hardest overtaking circuit on the calendar, tenth on the grid is the number to keep.

A record that has started
No win, no pole, no podium and no points, but no longer no starts either. Lindblad went into the 2026 race as the only driver on the grid with a completely empty Dutch Grand Prix record, and came out of it with a line on the sheet.
That is the nature of a rookie season. Every other driver in this series had a Zandvoort history to be judged against, good or bad. Lindblad has started writing his, and he started it at one of the most demanding circuits Formula 1 visits.
