About Miami International Autodrome

The Miami International Autodrome is a temporary circuit built around the Hard Rock Stadium complex in Miami Gardens, first used in 2022. It is a track of two distinct halves: a fast opening and closing section built around long straights, and a slow, technical middle sector through turns eleven to sixteen.

The two long straights, joined by the turn eleven to sixteen complex, provide the overtaking. Cars reach around 320 km/h before the turn seventeen chicane and again into turn one, and both are supported by DRS zones. The middle sector is where lap time is lost, and setting a car up to be quick in both halves is the central compromise of the weekend.

Its surface has been a recurring issue. The circuit uses a mix of permanent and temporary sections, and the transitions between them, along with painted areas that become treacherous in the rain, have produced complaints and at least one resurfacing.

Notable facts
