Lance Stroll's Dutch Grand Prix record is the quietest in the current grid and the most consistent in one particular way: he has driven all five modern runnings in the same colours. No team changes and no dramatic swings.
Five starts, all with Aston Martin, and a best finish of seventh. Here is the honest account of Stroll at Zandvoort.
The 2025 recovery drive
The standout comes last. In 2025 Stroll qualified a lowly 19th, after suffering a crash twice on the same weekend. He walked away unharmed after both the crashes during Friday's free practice and Saturday's qualifying.
However, he then carved his way up to seventh over the course of the race for his best Zandvoort finish and a healthy points haul. On a circuit where overtaking is famously hard, climbing twelve places is no small feat and easily the highlight of his Dutch record.
There is no pole or podium here, but that 2025 drive showed what he can do when a race opens up in front of him.
Before that, the pattern was steady midfield running. Twelfth, tenth, eleventh, thirteenth: four races spent circulating just outside or just inside the points, with a single point in 2022 the only reward. It is the record of a driver in a car that, for most of this stretch, simply did not have the pace to do much more at Zandvoort.
Lance Stroll's Dutch GP record year by year
The table is remarkably level until the final row, where the 2025 recovery finally lifts it clear of the midfield noise.
| Year | Team | Grid | Finish | Points |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2021 | Aston Martin | 12th | 12th | 0 |
| 2022 | Aston Martin | 10th | 10th | 1 |
| 2023 | Aston Martin | 11th | 11th | 0 |
| 2024 | Aston Martin | 8th | 13th | 0 |
| 2025 | Aston Martin | 19th | 7th | 6 |
Lance Stroll and Aston Martin
Every one of these results has come in Aston Martin green, first under the Racing Point-derived cars and then the machines that carried Fernando Alonso to a podium here in 2023. That Stroll has not matched his teammate's Zandvoort high says as much about racing luck as anything, but the 2025 drive hints there is more in him at this track.

Lance Stroll's Dutch Grand Prix record is a slow burn: four years of anonymity followed by a genuinely impressive recovery in 2025. No podium, but that climb from 19th to seventh is still an amazing feat at the circuit.
