Yuki Tsunoda has five Azerbaijan Grand Prix starts and his best of them came last year, in the one season he spent in the senior Red Bull. He does not have that seat any more.
Five starts, fifteen points, a best finish of sixth. Read alongside the seat changes, it is a tidy little illustration of how much of a Baku result is decided before the car turns a wheel.
Four years in the junior car, then one good weekend
The AlphaTauri years were steady and unremarkable: seventh in 2021 from seventh on the grid, thirteenth in 2022, tenth and a single point in 2023. Three visits, seven points, nothing to argue about either way.
2024 was the bad one, a retirement from eleventh on the grid, classified twentieth.
Then 2025. Sixth on the grid and sixth at the flag in the Red Bull, his best qualifying position and best finish at this circuit by a clear margin, and eight of his fifteen Baku points in a single afternoon. He was moved back to Racing Bulls for 2026.

He goes again on 26 September in the VCARB04. Matching last year's sixth would, in the circumstances, be a considerably better drive than it was the first time.
