Sochi Autodrom

Sochi Autodrom was laid out through the site of the 2014 Winter Olympics and hosted the Russian Grand Prix from 2014 to 2021. Its layout followed the roads and infrastructure of the Olympic Park, which produced a lap of long straights and mostly 90-degree corners.

Its distinctive feature was turn three: a very long, constant-radius left-hander that wrapped most of the way around the Medal Plaza and took around eight seconds. It punished front-left tyre temperature but was almost impossible to gain time in.

Low tyre degradation made most races here one-stop affairs, and the circuit's reputation for processional racing was rarely challenged. Formula 1 ended its contract in 2022.
