About Circuito de Madring

Madring is a new circuit in Madrid built around the IFEMA exhibition centre, combining permanent sections with public roads. It joins the Formula 1 calendar in 2026 as the Spanish Grand Prix's new home.

The layout runs to roughly 5.47 km and mixes long straights with a technical infield section, including a banked corner intended to allow side-by-side running. Because no Formula 1 race has yet been held there, its competitive character — tyre behaviour, overtaking opportunities, the setup compromise it demands — is still unknown.

Notable facts

  • Joins the Formula 1 calendar in 2026, taking over as the home of the Spanish Grand Prix.
  • Combines permanent circuit sections with public roads around the IFEMA exhibition centre.
  • Includes a banked corner designed to encourage side-by-side racing.
