Fans could see a significant delay in the announcement of the 2027 calendar amid a war-like situation in the Middle East. There's growing uncertainty over whether or not Formula 1 will continue, with this year's races already rescheduled.
If we talk about the current season, the Bahrain GP and Saudi Arabian GP have been called off, and indications are that the final race of the season might take place in Europe if the situation continues. Meanwhile, contractual obligations confirm that both Bahrain GP (confirmed slot of March 14) and Saudi Arabian GP (confirm slot of March 21) will take place as planned.
A single pre-season test is also set to take place in Bahrain between 25 and 27 February early next year. Be that as it may, races in UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia are all in danger of being scrapped.

If these four races are scrapped, FIA could look at various options as replacement. This could be a chance for Imola to make his return after getting dropped from the 2026 season. Circuit Paul Regard is France is also an interesting option since it's frequently used for testing purposes. The track was taken off the calendar in 2022. Already, FI is returning to Malaysia this season after it was decided that the Bahrain GP will take place at the Sepang circuit.
