Jean-Pierre Jarier was a French Formula 1 driver who contested 138 Grands Prix between 1971 and 1983, racing 11 different teams, starting with March-Ford. He made his debut at the 1971 Italian Grand Prix, and stood on the podium 3 times, with a best finish of third place at the 1974 Monaco Grand Prix. Jarier scored 31.5 championship points, making his final start at the 1983 South African Grand Prix. He also took 3 pole positions.
