About Korean International Circuit
The Korean International Circuit at Yeongam hosted the Korean Grand Prix from 2010 to 2013. It was designed as a hybrid: a permanent section around the pit complex, joined to a street-style loop intended to run through a marina city that was planned for the surrounding land but never built.
The result was a circuit with genuinely good racing characteristics — a long back straight, heavy braking zones and a technical final sector — set in an area with almost no infrastructure, which made it unpopular with teams and difficult for spectators to reach.
Its first race, in 2010, was held in heavy rain on a circuit finished only days before, and was won by Fernando Alonso after a red-flag delay.
